They just want to come home!
December 18th, 2008

As we all know, the South Pole is the toughest place for a person to get to. What the team is now finding out is that it is also the toughest place to get out of!  Bad weather at Patriot Hills has been an issue…The team is still at the Pole and awaiting the arrival of the pick up plane. We’ll keep the site posted with up to the minute developments. For more details, please check the expedition tracking page. Also, please keep sending in those donations and lovely guestbook comments to keep their spirits up!

The waiting begins again.

The South Pole for Kids team is relieved to be done their expedition, but now they just want to come home! Currently they’re sitting in their tents at the South Pole, waiting for the plane to take them back to Patriot Hills. Then they will wait for another flight to take them back to Punta Arenas, Chile, where they will have a happy reunion with their other team member Mark MacLennan. After that, they’ll all catch a flight back to Toronto - hopefully in time for Christmas. Unfortunately most of this travel is very weather dependent, so they could be waiting at each stop for a break in the weather. Wish them luck and stay tuned to the Expedition Updates page for more postings and photos from the team!

Happy Birthday Peter!
December 16th, 2008

Today is Peter’s birthday - and what better birthday present than having made it to the South Pole yesterday! Congratulations Peter - I’m not sure what kind of birthday cake they have at the south pole, but I’m sure you’ll find a way to celebrate.
