Punta Arenas, Chile
This is the first place we will fly to en route to Antarctica. This is the southernmost city in the world! Here we will spend a few days, preparing our food and gear for our antarctic expedition. Patriot Hills, Antarctica
When we fly to Antarctica, our first destination will be the Patriot Hills camp. From here we will fly aboard another smaller plane to 88.23 degrees - the spot where we will start skiing towards the pole.
Patriot Hills is a very interesting place - it is a seasonal camp run by an antarctic expedition company and features an ice runway for the planes to land on! Here is a map showing where Patriot Hills is located in Antarctica:
