In December 2008, four area businessmen skied the last degree to the South Pole in support of local kids' programs.
Inspired by their highly successful North Pole excursion in 2006, where they raised half a million dollars for children's charities, they again tested their limits in Antarctica. Battling relentless winds, extreme cold and demanding physical requirements, it was their greatest personal challenge to date.
We reached the South Pole on the December 15th 2008, but didn’t make it back home until December 28th! If you have donated, please know that we are incredibly grateful for all donations and are taking the distribution decisions very seriously. We have a volunteer committee that is currently summarizing the options and ensuring that all selected charities will have a specific plan and accountability for the use of funds. We anticipate distributing these funds by the middle of February. You will then receive a charitable receipt directly from the end donor. If you have any questions, require more information, would like to schedule a media interview or appearance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
